Terms of Use
What this is
Gedup is an alarm clock that does not stop when you tap a button. It stops when you have done what you told it to ask of you — a set of squats, a few sums, a photo of something across the room.
These terms are the agreement between you and Quentin Höhne - Seilerstraße 14, 71144 Steinenbronn about using the app. By using Gedup you accept them.
What you may do with it
You get a personal, non-transferable right to use Gedup on devices you control, for as long as these terms are in force.
You may not resell it, rent it out, take it apart to rebuild it, or work around the parts that check your subscription.
The subscription
Creating alarms and changing them needs a subscription. Gedup is sold as a monthly and as a yearly plan; the price of each, and the interval, are shown before you buy.
The first alarm that setup creates rings once without a subscription, so you can see for yourself what the app does before paying for it.
If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian to agree before you subscribe. The purchase happens in Google Play or the App Store. On a supervised account (Family Link on Android, Ask to Buy on iPhone), the store asks them for you.
If the plan includes a free trial, the length of the trial and the date of the first charge are shown on the purchase screen before you tap anything.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel where you bought: on Android in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions, on iPhone in Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
The store is the seller: Google Play on Android, Apple on iPhone. It handles payment, invoices and refunds. Refund requests go to Google or Apple, not to us — we cannot issue them.
What happens when the subscription ends
An alarm that is already set keeps ringing, its mission runs, and you can stop it. We do not switch off a running alarm because a payment lapsed. If your card expires on a Tuesday night, your Wednesday morning is not our leverage.
What you lose is the ability to create alarms and to change the ones you have.
Your streak and your statistics stay readable. They are your record of your own mornings, and we are not holding them hostage.
What we cannot promise
Gedup schedules the alarm through your phone operating system. Whether it actually rings depends on the phone: battery optimisation, power saving modes, a forced stop, a manufacturer cleaning up background apps overnight, a flat battery, or a system update in the night can all prevent it.
The app checks the settings that matter most and tells you which ones are missing. That reduces the risk. It does not remove it, and nobody can remove it.
So: for something that genuinely cannot be missed, do not rely on a single alarm app. Not on ours, and not on any other.
The missions are physical exercise. Do them within your own limits, and stop if something hurts. If you have a condition that makes sudden exertion after waking a bad idea, ask a doctor before using the exercise missions — the app has ones that ask your head instead of your body.
Liability
We are liable without limit for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow us to limit liability — including intent and gross negligence.
For ordinary negligence we are liable only where we break a duty that the agreement depends on, and then only for damage that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of agreement.
Beyond that we are not liable, in particular not for a missed appointment because an alarm did not ring. Please read the section above again: that risk is real, and it is why you should not make us your only alarm.
Changes, and ending it
We will keep developing the app. Features can change, and missions can be added or removed.
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and stop using Gedup.
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. We can end it if you break these terms seriously.
Law and contact
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory rules in the country where you live.
